after being in my internship, i always arrive early to work...coz i needed to find parking...so i usually reach 1 hour before work. so in these recent months, i've gotten acquainted to the wonders of the media.... i'll read the paper... read online... everything...now i'm like the walking berita...
as for the recent "oogli" political events, the scandals, the OMFG !#$%!!! road blocks!!! and such... i would always frown and turn. "its getting too duuuurty...." however, the debate on tuesday night telecasted live on tv, between the PKR adviser and the information minister really stood out. that night (eventho i masih sakit, on my sofa in front of the tv), i watched the debate. whoa.... i felt this "feeling" la.... like "yea~this is where our politic shud be heading"....
finally, we are starting to reach this level...another step closer to being a "civil society" -the ideal one btw. for so many many many years, we've been sort of kept under the blanket. this kenot say, that kenot discuss. because we have been deemed as "nt up to the level of maturity" yet. that we cannot handle or manage it. apparently, ppl assumed that we might jus burst!
This debate-to me, is far beyond whatever the argument was on the oil price. because it showed that both sides of the nation could actually, even for a brief moment, come together and discuss about the issue, in a civil manner. frankly and sincerely, i would salute to both speakers in the debate, the junior minister with the courage to take on the challenge - he was well prepared; and the veteran politician who is calm, collected despite the storm brewing outside.
of course this debate wasnt without its downside la...as both sides traded so-called personal comments. but in general, i guess it can still be considered clean n civil lo...
seriously, i would wanna believe that Malaysia has reached another level la....
